Live Object Theatre between Berlin and Gaza • in English/German/Arabian
Film Riss Theatre examines Hemingway's novella "The Old Man and the Sea" in an associative way with hands and feet and sets the battle of the unlucky fisherman Santiago in the Gaza Strip. After a long dry spell, Santiago hooks the biggest fish of his life - so big that it pushes him to the limits of his strength and drags him far out to sea. Who or what is the long-awaited big fish in Gaza, where the fishermen aren't allowed to go more than 3.5 kilometres from shore?
In front of the camera, objects transform into the above- and underwater worlds of a walk-in movie. The performance is about the ties between Berlin and Gaza.
